UPDATE: A crash involving three vehicles killed two people and shut down Highway 55, south of Mccall, for hours Friday.
Idaho State police say a47-year-old male from Boise was driving southbound on SH55 in a Ford pickup truck, crossed left of center and sideswiped a Ford Explorer. The Explorer was driven by a 70-year-old female from Cascade. The Ford Explorer crossed into the southbound lane and was struck by a Subaru Crosstrek that was driven by a 28-year-old female from Twin Falls.
The driver of the Subaru died there, the driver of the Ford Explorer died at a local hospital. The driver of the Subaru was not wearing a seatbelt, the other two were.
The road was blocked for approximately 3.5 hours and was reduced to one lane for another 45 minutes.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The Valley County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Highway 55 is closed for a multi-vehicle accident at MP 137.
There is no estimated time when the highway will be open. Traffic is being diverted to side roads.
Drivers are told they can take Norwood Road or Farm to Market to divert from Highway 55 South or North.
The closure is located south of Lake Fork or south of E/W Lake Fork Rd.
